Islamic Development & Relief Agency (IDRA) is one of the fast growing indigenous Faith Based humanitarian, Relief and developing none-governmental, not for profit organization in South Sudan registered by the South Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Commission as a national nongovernmental organization under Chapter 3, Section 10 of the NGO Act 2018 on the 10th.12.2018 under registration number 1972.
IDRA responds to emerging issues during emergency & for developmental in South Sudan at large. The founders were touched and compelled by need of the affected communities. Our activities are geared towards reducing the suffering of most vulnerable groups through implementing programs and projects that help the affected communities to recover and improve. We collaborate with partners/donor organizations and well wishers to design and implement development programs and deliver essential social services to people in need. IDRA coordination Office is located off Nimratalata – Juba, in South Sudan other field offices in Terekeka, yei, Wau and Torit.
Our core programs include but not limited to: child protection & Gender Base violence (GBV), Food security & livelihood, Education, Water, hygiene & sanitation, peace building/Dialogues, Health, (HIV/AIDS and Reproductive health), Youth and women Empowerment, Democratic governance.
This we believed will accelerate and ensure speedy and sustainable reduction of acute poverty. Ensure the attainment of the Millennium Development Goals of reducing extreme hunger and malnutrition, access to primary education and health care, gender equity, promotion of democratic rights and eradication of HIV/AIDS,
Guided by our Islamic faith and values we envisage to create a South Sudan free from poverty, diseases based on principles of Justice and equality.
To help and empower the poor and needy through building their confidence and independence. We shall mobilize resources, build trust and develop local capacities as we work serve humanity.
